Our curriculum builds on the basics to advance and proper technique starting at the youngest ages. Variety each year in songs, dance combinations and recital routines keeps it fun while we focus on repetition of movement and skills which is key to progression.

This is a combo class for dancers ages 2.5 to 4 years old (must be potty trained). 

This combo class consist of

 Ballet and Tap 

(30mins of Ballet and 30mins of Tap)

Creative Movement is a introduction to classical ballet using fun and creative props and activities. Dancers will work on motor skills by music, movement, props, and they're creative imagination. 

 Students will learn the essentials of rhythm comprehension and begin to develop an innate ability to hear and play the dance as music.

LEVEL i combo

Ladybugs curriculum begins with a focus on proper posture, body alignment and basic coordination while introducing technique for beginner dancers. Reverence at end of class. Emphasize classroom etiquette, holding the barre properly, making neat classroom lines in the center, proper use of the diagonal, no talking, etc. 

Ladybugs is a combo class that consist of 

Ballet, Tap, HipHop, Acro

LEVEL i combo

Level I curriculum begins with a focus on proper posture, body alignment and simple coordination while introducing technique for beginner dancers. Reverence at end of class. Emphasize classroom etiquette, holding the barre properly, making neat classroom lines in the center, proper use of the diagonal, no talking, etc. 

Level 1 is a combo class that consist of Ballet, Modern, and Jazz. 


BALLET

An introduction to ballet technique, terminology, and positions. Students will learn the classical art form of ballet through barre work, center, and progressive combinations.

 Positions (1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th) Proper technique in plies, tendus, degages. Jumps in 1st and 2nd, eschappe, burre, chasse, chaine turns, ¼ and ½ pirouettes introduced.Level 1 + Positions (5th introduced) Proper technique in rond de jambe, develop at 45 degrees, Single pirouettes and petite allegro in the centre. Building strength to maintain proper turnout and use of core strength for all movement

MODERN

An introduction to Horton modern technique. Students will learn the basic fundamentals within the Horton technique: Roll Downs, Flatbacks, Laterals, Release Swings, Contractions, Triplets,  Twist and Sits, Chaine Turns, Coccyx Balance, etc. 

Students will maintain technique and will gain technical knowledge, terminology and history. 

JAZZ

Mix discipline classes offered at Level 1. Basic technique in jazz introduced: jazz walks/runs, battements, chaine turns, grande jetes, progressions across the floor and pirouette prep technique. Knowledge of/working towards proper body alignment, core stability for control, lengthened lines, strong arm placement (jazz lines 2nd and 4th). Single/Double Pirouettes, Battments above 90 degrees, leaps (right/left and center jetes), leg extensions (devant/a la second/pitch/tilt), double chaine turns with preps from 2nd and 4th, more complex progressions and leg hold turns introduced.

Curriculum focuses on requiring proper posture, body alignment and more complex coordination while refining technique. Curriculum also challenges students to take individual responsibility for proper posture, body alignment and advanced/mature coordination, knowledge of and executing technique with precision and artistry.

 Reverence at end of class. Emphasize classroom etiquette, holding the barre properly, making neat classroom lines in the center, proper use of the diagonal, no talking, etc. 

Level 2 is a combo class that consist of Ballet, Modern, and Jazz. 


BALLET

Practice and expand upon ballet technique and fundamentals with challenging barre and center work; jumps, turns and combinations.

Students are able to maintain strong posture and turnout with one hand at the barre. Epaulement coordination of movement with head and arms. Exercises are executed at a slow pace in a methodical manner. (Master Single) Doubles and Triples Pirouettes, Petite allegro jumps with beats are introduced. Adagio with develop in centre. Extensions are maintained at 90 degrees.

More complex coordination, maintaining proper technique with strong posture, turnout, correct placement, central line of balance, dynamic eye-line and comprehension of musicality in centre work. Triple Pirouettes and Fouttes introduced. Extensions required above 90 degrees. 

MODERN

Practice and expand upon the Horton modern technique. Students will expand their knowledge and advance  fundamentals within the Horton technique: across the floor, center floor work, jumps, turns,  fortifications, preludes, and challenging combinations 

Students will maintain technique and will gain technical knowledge, terminology and history. 

JAZZ

Working towards full height battments, extensions and leaps (right/left/center). Float leaps, chaine jete introduced. Double Pirouettes required.

Full height battments, extensions and leaps (right/left/center), Right/Left/Center Splits and triple pirouettes required. Fouettes/a la second turns, capezios and turning discs introduced.

 Curriculum challenges students to take individual responsibility for proper posture, body alignment and advanced/mature coordination, knowledge of and executing technique with precision and artistry.

Curriculum also works at an advanced level of body awareness, quality of movement, setting new standards with artistry while maintaining proper posture, body alignment and defined technique.

 Reverence at end of class. Emphasize classroom etiquette, holding the barre properly, making neat classroom lines in the center, proper use of the diagonal, no talking, etc.

Level 2 is a combo class that consist of Ballet, Modern, and Jazz. 


BALLET 

More complex coordination, maintaining proper technique with strong posture, turnout, correct placement, central line of balance, dynamic eye-line and comprehension of musicality in centre work. Triple Pirouettes and Fouttes introduced. Extensions required above 90 degrees. Some students at this level will be approved for work en pointe.

 Advanced technique. Triple/Quad pirouettes and fouettes required. Extensions are maintained at full height. More complex Grande Allegro jumps are introduced. Partnering is introduced.

MODERN

More complex coordination, maintaining proper technique upon the Horton modern technique. Students will advance  their knowledge and strengthen   fundamentals within the Horton technique: across the floor, center floor work, jumps, turns, fortifications, preludes, and challenging and complex combinations 

Students will maintain technique and will gain technical knowledge, terminology and history. 

JAZZ

Triple/Quad Pirouettes and solid fouette/a la second turn sets required. Capezio and turning discs at full height.

ACROBATICS  

  • Acro dance classes offer a wide array of benefits, including increasing strength, flexibility, and coordination in students.
  •  choreography and moves like cartwheels, chest stands, hand springs, and hand walking   
  •  strengthen muscles 
  •  increasing flexibility 

TAP

Students will learn the basic fundamentals of tap. 

 Toe heel, slap, shuffle, cramp rolls; combinations & timing.

HIP HOP

  •  Street dance styles primarily performed to hip-hop music or that have evolved as part of hip-hop culture.

PRAISE 

Ministering through movement.

Adult Classes

COVID-19 UPDATE

 The health and safety of our students is our highest priority and with fears escalating over the Coronavirus (COVID-19) we want to reassure you that we are taking every precaution. iBalance Dance Studio will follow the recommendations set forth by the CDC (center for disease and control) Steps to Prevent Illness as we serve our students. We will continue to actively clean and disinfect all areas of the studio throughout our class days.

 We requires students to wash and sanitizing their hands before entering and leaving studio. 

We require all students and staff to wear a mask during class
